Our Purpose
“Saying thank you face to face, heart to heart”
PURPOSE: To thank and honor veterans, active duty military and their families for their service, face to face and heart to heart.
MISSION STATEMENT: Empower and support Keowee Key and the surrounding community in its efforts to thank, honor, and remember veterans, active duty military and their families.
VISION: Keowee Key and local communities will forever support and appreciate the sacrifice of veterans, active duty military and their families.
OBJECTIVES:
• Provide an R&R retreat for our veterans, active duty military and families
• Host a Veteran’s Day breakfast annually to show appreciation and foster fellowship among Keowee Key veterans
• Engage Keowee Key members to ensure involvement and volunteerism for HTS activities
• Ensure adequate fundraising to continue HTS mission
• Seek opportunities to say thank you to veterans and active duty military and their families
• Enhance communication and fellowship among Keowee Key veterans
OPERATING PRINCIPLES:
• Limit bureaucracy--only the essential to be legal and responsible—streamlined processes oriented towards service
• Don’t duplicate what others are doing
• Spend money on behalf of the veterans, active duty military and families, not on the organization
• Events and programs completely run by volunteers
• Always focus on the veterans, active duty military and families.
