BE A HOST FAMILY
Thank you for your interest in being a Host Family for our Honoring Their Service guests. This year’s event will occur June 26th & June 27th. 2026 marks the 15th year of hosting Warriors and their significant others here in Keowee Key and we are fortunate to once again partner with the Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital and Upstate Warrior Solution.
Our Veterans live in the Upstate and will be carpooling or arriving on their own. Upon arrival at the Duke parking lot, the Host Families will meet their respective Veteran. From Duke Power you and your Veteran will participate in a Welcome Parade enroute to your home to freshen up. After a brief rest, you will take your Veteran to the Welcome Picnic hosted by the residents of Spinnaker Cove. At the picnic you and your guests will get the chance to know each other and their fellow Veterans. Additionally, you will receive a short introduction to the Honoring Their Service Organization and an overview of the next day’s activities. As the picnic draws down you and your guests will be given the opportunity to go on an Evening Cruise courtesy of Spinnaker Cove residents. From the picnic, you will take your Veteran(s) to your home for the evening. The next morning you will offer your guest breakfast and then escort them to their first event. At the conclusion of the morning Activity, guests and hosts will gather for lunch at the Lakeview Room. After lunch, Veterans, Guests and Hosts will proceed to the afternoon activity. Upon completion of the second activity, you and your guest will return to your home to freshen up. All Honoring Their Service participants will gather at The Club for dinner. It is up to you and your guest if they depart Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
When you fill out the form below you will be asked where your interests lie. We will do our best to match you to your guest so you can participate with them throughout the day. But rest assured you may also cheer from the sidelines.
In the event of rain, indoor activities will proceed at the Activity Center, FRC, and Duke World of Energy. Please see the link to the agenda below.
Again, thank you for your willingness to be a host. With your help, we plan to provide a day full of fun and fond memories.
NOTE: Our guests are managing their work schedules and arranging childcare so that they can attend. This sometimes requires flexibility on the part of their hosts. HTS aims to provide that flexibility and can assist Hosts if needed. The HTS event does not include children or childcare. Guests and hosts will be matched as applications arrive so you can reach out to your veteran ASAP.
